New Jersey kayak is looking for water sport
(rowboat, canoe, and kayak) concession staff for operation within New Jersey Bass River State
Park.
The candidate must be of college age (19+) and have the ability to represent New Jersey
kayak & Bass River State Park with the highest of standards.
The individual must be responsible, courteous, with mature attitude, friendly &
display a wiliness to be a team player along with the New Jersey Kayak staff.
Previous job experience that displays these qualities is very important.
Since our core business is coastal sea tour kayak instruction & tours, it is very
helpful that candidate have extensive experience with coastal sea tour kayaking.
NJ kayak will consider & training candidate that displays high
interest in kayaking, a wiliness to learn along with a comfort with being in & around
open water. Candidate must be in good physical
condition.
Besides warmly greeting the people, fitting PFDs (lifejackets) & giving basic
instruction (if needed), candidate will be required to keep area clean,
keep accurate financial & guest book & to secure boats at the end of day.
Candidates need to have own transportation and be required to wear appropriate clothing
with a clean appearance. A uniform reflecting New
Jersey kayak is being considered. The
concession may require two staff positions with me or my wife taking a very pro active
role in the operation. Special event programs
may be designed for campers and day trippers and participation of staff is expected. The park requires a minimum of four day operation
of Friday through Monday and hours of operation of 10am to 6pm Memorial Day to Labor Day.
These days & hours will be analyzed and adjusted if necessary.
The wage is $8 to $15 an hour depending on experience.

Parkway exit 52 South & exit 50 North
