Review basic gear and supplies to bring and how to
dress for the weather.
Much of the clothing used in kayaking can be drawn from other sports.
Review navigational aides, weather & tide conditions, etc.

care to fit each quest to their kayak from our extensive fleet of kayaks providing comfort
& performance for all paddling interest & ability. |

| How to use Rudder or Skeg: |

Paddling with the aid of a rudder is useful when wind &
tides dictate & if preferred, instruction
in kayak with skeg can be arranged. |

Participants are incouraged to perform a wet exit for confidence of a
control exit from kayak in the event of capsize. As with the wet exit, the ability
for Self Rescue & Assisted (partner) Rescue is higly recommended for confidence &
safety for continued enjoyment of sea kayak touring.
We generally give this level of instruction in single kayaks,
however a tandem may be arranged. |

Kayak Boot Camp is a Fast-Track Sea Kayak Touring program including Basic, Beyond the Basic &
Rescue Classes for those seeking a complete exposure to sea kayak touring in a relativily
short period of time..
This program will provide you the knowlege which will prepair you for confident & safe
journeys. New Jersey Kayak's Bootcamp will provide guest with the skills
necessary to navigate their own sea touring kayak. |
